Aesthetics race down to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix 2011

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

Once again we have had the pleasure of being involved in one of the most highly anticipated and respected sporting events in the world, the British Grand Prix 2011 at Silverstone, Northamptonshire. Over 300,000 people were in attendance to watch the qualifying races and over 122,000 watched the adrenalin pumped championship final over the three day period.

As usual Aesthetics Events Limited had a team of over 90 hosts and hostesses located at various venues within Silverstone which included all the VIP restaurants. In addition our team of staff were in attendance at the new hospitality area – Stowe Lakehouse where we decided to purchase a new summer event uniform to tie in with the colourful themed suites. This meant that in addition to our usual black wrap dresses and black suits which we traditionally use as uniforms Aesthetics  were able to liaise with our client and select a lighter uniform for the summer. We decided that the girls would be dressed in smart cream linen dresses with coloured ribbon and fashionable flower hair clip to match the colour scheme in each facility. The ribbons colours that were chosen were lime green, pink and blue to represent each theme. The hosts wore a cream suit, white shirt and orange tie. Our hospitality team as always were there to make the day extra special by making the guests feel welcome from the minute they checked into their designated restaurants to the moment they departed. The atmosphere at the Grand Prix is always electrifying and our team are just an extension of that dressed in bright colours with bright smiles!

Aesthetics team set sail to the Isle of Wight Festival

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

This was an exciting opportunity for our selected Aesthetics team to be a part of the Isle of Wight Festival. In particular this festival boasts to be one of the most fast paced extravaganzas of the summer. It attracts some of the best indie bands in the business today like; Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, Foo Fighters, Pulp, Kasbian and The Script to name but a few. Our team of nine which consisted of one stage presenter and eight promoters for Pringles, set sail from Southampton the night before the festival kicked off. There was an array of tasks for our Aesthetics team to get involved with over the course of the two days. Firstly it was the stage presenter’s role to get the festival crowd pumped up and ready to participate with the games on stage like playing the air guitar and can alley toss. Then we had two promoters located at the Pringles booth handing out giveaways, while also selling Pringle cans. Another one of our promoter’s was stationed at the multimedia photo booth so that thanks to the lovely world of Facebook they could instantly take pictures and post them. The rest of the Aesthetics gang walked around the festival and camping grounds, handing out samples whilst also distributing coins that allowed people to participate in the games. Ultimately it was our core responsibility to get the crowds involved as much as possible and ensure that everyone is enjoying the taste of Pringle’s!

Aesthetics tour alongside Chevrolet in their national trek across the UK to promote their latest new line of cars!

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Chevrolet embarked on their national tour at selected Tesco Extra’s across the country this weekend with a trained Aesthetics member in attendance at every UK venue. Chevrolet had planned for the launch to coincide with the release of the third instalment of Transformers 3D, ‘Dark of the moon’. The Chevrolet brand is best known for the famous Camero car transforming in to ‘Bumblebee’in the blockbuster hit. In order to promote both the film and new line of vehicles that are available by Chevrolet at each site they erected a 3D poster of Transformers to gain interest from passerby’s. Our Aesthetic trained member’s role over the two day campaign was to engage with potential customers regarding the selected vehicles on site, obtain data from anyone interested in the Chevrolet cars and help to raffle off Transformer toy cars to the children.

Due to Chevrolet now having such a wide range of different vehicles and the cars being different at each location it is imperative that are Aesthetics staff know the specifications of each car displayed. Therefore, to ensure the most precise product knowledge is given our carefully selected team were given a full day of intensive training on all the vehicles that would be present throughout the national tour. These include current cars such as the Spark, Aveo, Captiva, Cruze (which will be relaunched as a five door hatchback) and the newly innovative ‘Volt’. The ‘Volt’ is one of the most talked about cars for Chevrolet which will be available towards the end of the year. This car is truly revolutionary as it can be run as either an electric car or a fuel assisted car. The fuel tank is only ever used to recharge the electric battery unless you as the consumer would like to run the newly anticipated vehicle by using the fuel.

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

On the weekend commencing the 11th June our Aesthetics team of 33 host and hostesses were located at the Moto GP, Silverstone – Northamptonshire. Petrol enthusiasts flock to observe the races over the course of two days.

The Aesthetics crew were then placed into smaller teams to participate with assisting at the various restaurants within the Silverstone grounds. Each small team could be identified by the colour of their scarf and smart black wrap dress for the girls whereas; the boys could be spotted by the colour of their ties and black suits. The guests would be greeted at any of the five restaurants like the Stowe Apron, Stowe Complex, Dorna VIP Village, Brooklands and SCL Rider Lounge. Once the guests are in their allocated restaurants they could only expect a 5 star treatment and this would begin by being greeted with a smile and a warm welcome by the Aesthetics host or hostess. After the guests had been checked in by our reception team and handed their goody bag they would then be guided to their designated table where they would be wined and dined until the race commenced. Through the course of the day going into the early evening our hostessing team would endeavour to make sure that all the guests needs were met first time allowing them to thoroughly enjoy the day!

Watch out! Aesthetics have a new innovative look for our website coming soon!

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

As one of the leading international agency’s within the events industry it is imperative that we keep coming up with innovative ways to portray how we are seen within the industry in which we operate. For almost a year we have been implementing ways to set us aside from other agencies. Most potential clients and people that may want to join Aesthetics initially refer to our r to get a feel for what we do therefore, it is crucial that the first interaction with Aesthetics Events Ltd has a lasting impression. Our Managing Director, Lee Thomas, had a certain vision and specific look that she was aiming for our website. Lee’s idea was for the website to be interactive and have live presenters help guide onlookers through the content. There has been months and months of preparations to ensure that various elements come together to help get the new look right.

Firstly, at Aesthetics we always want our clients to feel that the Aesthetics team are an extension of their own business. Therefore, we feel it is important that our clients can get a feel for who will be handling their events within the admin team. So Lee drafted in professional photographers from The Modelcamp, Gary Payne and Lewis Jordan (www.themodelcamp.com) and makeup artist Rebecca to pamper each member of the staff. Every member of the Aesthetics team was also asked to complete a bio of interesting facts regarding themselves.

The next major task was to start thinking about how we could bring the website to life so we started to audition for presenters that would appear on various sections of the website. After castings had taken place our final five were chosen to appear, Hare Dhami, Crystal Bates, Hilary Shaw, Catherine Vickers and Stacey Ellis. The idea is for our presenters to be able to engage with potential clients and people who may want to become involved with Aesthetics. Once the presenters were chosen we had the task of selecting the videographer, costumes, makeup artist, scripts and a venue.  We decided to use a local venue The Herbert Art and Museum Gallery (http://www.theherbert.org/) to film our presenters and the videographer we used was Simon Wellman from Herbert Media, part of the Coventry Heritage & Arts Trust. They supplied the location, equipment and expertise to shoot the green screen elements for the Aesthetics website.  The shoot utilized Panasonic HD cameras to provide the best possible results when keying out the models from the background.

This is the first time Aesthetics have filmed their own video shoot and let’s just say the day was full of excitement and commotion from the moment everyone arrived. There was a real buzz in the air! First task was getting the girls through hair and makeup while in the other room everything was getting setup. Offering their services for the day was Kirsty Wilkins from the Aesthetics office, (Marketing and Sales) and John Tanner from One-Marketing-Strategy (www.one-marketing-strategy.com ) who both played crucial roles for the day. John coached the presenters by helping them to go through their lines and filming various activities that happened throughout the day to help promote our website. Kirsty had the responsibility of assisting with choosing outfits, organising the presenters to film their segment and helping to make changes where needed.

Overall the day was a truly enjoyable new experience and a complete success for everyone involved. The footage that we captured will look amazing and the presenters were fantastic with each of their performances.   Thank you to everyone involved with making this a memorable day for Aesthetics Events Ltd!
